To my dear friend Chris,
Today would have been a year since we had arrived in Iraq if you would have still been with us. I will never forget 0ct. 17. I hope that wherever you are, you live in peace and perfect harmony. I knew it was God's will that took you from us all and I accept that. One day I will see you again my brother but for now I will keep fighting and survive in this world. We all miss you deeply. Farewell my brother.

The next two days will be stressful and overwhelming. Yet it only adds up to 48 hours of bullshit.

I have a long weekend ahead of me. 5 days to be exact. I am excited I get to rest and relax. I will probably go home and spend time with my mom. We will see.

I scroll through all the faces and the names of these brave servicemembers. I constantly reflect on this war that we are involved with and what have we accomplished? As I went down the list, I saw LCpl Christopher M. Poston in the list. I miss him alot as well as all the other fallen Marines. It sucks to remember the true effects of war on a human being. I have grown so close to every Marine in my new platoon. In a leadership position, it is difficult to comprehend that my decisions can be life or death if we decide to return to Iraq next year. Rest in Peace Chris, I wont let you down and I will get through this new shit and make sure my Marines remember how great of a Marine you were to all of us.
